ANTONIO IGNACIO VARGAS

A life devoted to horses

 

Antonio Ignacio Vargas was born in Puebla de
Cazalla (Seville) on June 14, 1948.
At the age of 16, Antonio started his rapid career as
a bull fighter on horseback which lasted for more than
30 years. During this time, he performed in the most renowned arenas of Spain, Portugal and France.
In 1977 Antonio founded his own riding school, the "Puerta Principe", where he taught students of all ages
to successfully compete in the various categories of Doma Clasica, horse jumping and pony.
His success established, students of the Hipica Puerta
Principe participated in numerous Andalusian and Spanish championships, winning medals in the
following categories:

Spanish Championship in Pony: 4 x Gold and 6 x Silver
Andalusian Championship in Pony: 6 x Gold, 7 x Silver and 1 Bronze
Andalusian Championship in horse jumping: 2 x Gold
Andalusian Championship in Doma Clasica: 2 x Silver and 1 x Bronze

Today, Antonio sees his association with horses strictly as a hobby at his new Finca, near Carmona, from where he assists horse lovers from around the world in the selection of their "dream horse". The Finca is located on the outskirts of Sevilla and close to the airport.
Here he can concentrate on the demand of the buyer. His motto is "The most expensive horse may not always be the best."
Many of Antonio´s visitors have enjoed his gracious hospitality, including a taste of "Pata Negra" (a very famous local ham) as well as a glass of excellent wine.
